  • Annual CDG Awareness Day Walk

Another World CDG Awareness Day is about to roll around again. May 16th is the big day!

Keep an eye out on our socials for updated information about the day and what we have planned.

As always, this day is all about raising awareness about all things CDG and celebrating our favourite CDG Warrior Louis! Whether you can come to the event or not, we would love if everyone would wear green on CDG Day and help us PAINT THE WORLD GREEN!

Past Events

  • 2023 CDG Awareness Day

We had a great turn out for CDG Day 2023! Amy and Louis have been running together more and more, so alongside Michael and Isaiah and their friends, they made the run to the lake in Shepparton before walking around in a sea of green!

We had a super successful year with the wine drive as well, raising well over $1000 for CDG Care.

So grateful for all the support once again.

  • 2022 CDG Awareness Day

Once again, w celebrated World CDG Awareness Day. May 16th is the big day, however this year we will be held the festivities on May 15th.

We had a great turn out of people who all walked around Victoria Park Lake in Shepparton and enjoyed a BBQ lunch afterwoods

This day is all about creating awareness and celebrating all things Louis and CDG and we were so grateful for all the support!

  • 2021- Everesting

2021 will saw us take on our largest challenge yet. Everesting, created by the Hells 500, is an attempt to climb 8,848m in elevation on one hill, in one activity. Whilst there’s no time limit, there’s also no sleep permitted.

In November, Michael & Josh trekked up Mount Porepunkah In Search Of Up. With an 800m elevation gain over 8 kilometres, their goal was to make 10 passes uphill. Supported by an amazing crew, they both achieved the equivalent of Mt Everest Base Camp, and then some. Michael completed 6 climbs, achieving an elevation of 5550m. Whilst Josh completed 7 climbs and an elevation of 6753m. Both incredible efforts!

The attempt was a monumental campaign by us to increase the awareness and funding for CDG, and CDG Care. We were once again blown away by everyone’s support. We raised a total of $20,000AUD for CDG Care! Our biggest achievement yet!

There is definitely a fire in the belly still with both of them and a sense of unfinished business, so watch this space for a potential Everesting 2.0!

  • 2021- World CDG Conference

This year Amy was lucky enough to be asked to speak as a parent on a panel at the World CDG conference.

Due to the the pandemic the conference was fully online via Zoom. Amy joined some of the leading researchers, clinicians and other parents at 2:30am AEST..

This was a great experience and both Amy & Michael took a lot of information and resources from it. We’re looking forward to next year’s Conference already!

  • 2021- CDG Awareness Day

Another successful day gathering together in our green colours, walking or running for CDG. Equipped with CDG Wine from Monochinos and lots of food!

  • 2020- CDG Awareness Day Virtual Fun Run

2020 through us a curveball with the social distancing and lockdown that the pandemic brought. That didn’t stop us from all coming together virtually! Louis’ supporters ran, walked or cycled their chosen distance, took some videos and photos and helped spread the CDG green and the word! This event, combined with selling some CDG labelled wine we managed to raise $6,000 for CDG Care! Once again, completely blown away by the continued support of our family and friends.

  • 2019- Run 4 CDG on the GC

Our first running for CDG event was such a memorable one. The super group of friends and family that came to the Gold Coast and ran or walked with us in the GC running festival! With our inaugural CDG shirts we managed to create a bit of buzz and spread some awareness about CDG and kick some personal goals!

We were blown away by the support of our family, friends and complete strangers. Our biggest and most sentimental fundraiser to date, we raised $14,000 for CDG Care.
