In Search of Up

“Limits, just like fears, are often just an illusion”

What is Everesting?

Everesting: Pick any hill, anywhere, and climb it repeatedly in a single activity until you’ve gained 8,848m in elevation - the height of Mount Everest.

There’s no time limit, but also no sleep permitted.

Where and when?

At midnight early on Saturday the 13th of November, 2021 the guys will head up the trail to the pinnacle of Mount Porepunkah.

Mount Porepunkah is outside of Bright, in the Alpine region of Victoria.

The trek will be approximately 8km in distance at a gradient of roughly 12%. This will take around 8-9 laps and approximately 22 hours.

Who?

Michael Dann and Joshua Sait are the two either crazy or brave guys attempting the Everesting. There will be a crew of supporters either completing a rep with them, driving them back down to the base or simply providing encouragement!

Michael has always enjoyed running and challenging himself mentally, however this is taking it to the next level! Since achieving a life long goal to complete the New York City Marathon in 2016, Michael has looked for events to push himself, however that has now turned into a way in which he can raise awareness and funds for Louis’ diagnosis of CDG.

Joshua is in a league of his own when it comes to running and regularly competes in marathons and short-distance running events. In 2019 he completed a once-in-a-lifetime experience of hiking to base camp at Mount Everest. Over the years, Josh and his family have been some of the biggest supporters of Danns and have been involved in each of the fundraising events to date.
